The Long Trek, celebrates our 30 years of whisky-making in Tasmania, Australia. It has been a long trek indeed, with many changes occurring since the distillery's conception in 1989. The Long Trek 30 Year Anniversary pays homage to those before us who took on the challenge of creating Tasmania’s first whisky. It is with this pedigree that we will continue to make Tasmania’s finest whisky.
“The Long Trek” is aged in unique Sol’lahra casks, designed by the Lahra family. The innovative stave combinations of these handcrafted casks create unrivalled flavour complexity and a profound mosaic of aromas.
Tasting Notes
NOSE: Opens with raisins, stewed figs, apricots and an alpine forest after the rain, with back notes of strawberries, tangerine and brown sugar glaze.
PALATE: Apricot marmalade, tangerine bite, kaffir lime leaves, and vanilla custard with an oat biscuit crust.
FINISH: Sweet, fruity, Tasmanian pepperberries, and Habana cigars in front of a warm fireplace.
